Conductor, the principal conductor of the "Helikon-Opera"

Biography

Valery Kirianov was born in Smolensk in 1980. In 1999 he graduated from the Musical college of Smolensk State Institute of Art and entered the Gnessins Russian Academy of Music, on speciality of academical choir conductor (prof. V. Sorokin’s class) from which he graduated in 2004 and in 2005 entered the Orchestra Conducting class of Prof. T.Mynbayev of the same Academy which he graduated in 2007.

While studying in the Academy in 2002 he began working with Moscow theatre Helikon-opera as a chorus artist and in 2006 Valery Kirianov was appointed chorus master of the theatre.

In 2005 - 2007 he had practice as a conductor in Helikon-opera with maestro Vladimir Ponkin. 

In 2005 Valery Kirianov debuted as a conductor of Verdi’s“Traviata” at Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theatre.

From 2008 till 2017 Valery Kirianov was a Principal Conductor at Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theatre where he produced several operas.

Since 2010 Valery Kirianov is a musical director of Dmitry Bertman’s workshop in Russian Academy of Theatrical Arts (former GITIS).

In 2012 he was appointed to the post of the conductor of Moscow Music Theatre Helikon-opera under Dmitry Bertman, where he conducts all theatre repertoire .

In 2015 Valery Kirianov was invited to take part in production of 3 operas of Sergey Rakhamaninov in La Monnaie theatre (Belgium) as an assistant-conductor of Mikhail Tatarnikov.

In 2016 he took part as a second conductor in a joint production of Shostakovich’s "The Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk" realized by Helikon-opera and Teatro Municipal de São Paulo(Brazil).

In 2016 he was invited as a conductor to Mikhailovsky theatre (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and since then he has been conducting such operas as Le Nozze Di Figaro by W.A. Mozart. La Bohème, Manon Lescaut by G. Puccini, and the others.

Valery Kirianov collaborates with the State symphony orchestra of Evgeny Svetlanov, orchectra of Surgut's philarmonia, orchestra of Tumen's philarmonia and others.

Since March 2017 Valey Kirianov took over the position of the principal conductor of the "Helikon-Opera".

While working in Helikon-opera, he produced as a musical director such operas as «Seven Deadly Sins» by K. Weill, «Doctor Gaaz» by A. Sergunin.

In the nearest future Valery Kirianov is making his debut as a conductor of Chaikovsky Symphony Orchestra with Rachmaninov’s and Skryabin’s music.

In 2018 he became the musical director of the opera M. Tariverdiev "The Marriage of Figarenko" and the opera by S. Rachmaninov "Aleko".

Performances
